Are your products all locally sourced?

The vast majority of our products are grown in the South of England, mostly in Dorset and Hampshire. Unfortunately, some products cannot be sourced / grown locally, and for these we source from further afield if needed. If you would ever like to know more about a product and it's origin, please Contact Us

The product I would like is not listed, can you help?

Sometimes it is possible to source products that are not listed online, or to source products in bulk. If you wish to discuss this further, please Contact Us.

Do your Dad and sister really work for you?

Yes they do...

Toadstall Plants is a small, local business, ran by 'Mr Toadstall' himself, Simon. However, everyone deserves a day off and so Claire (sister) and Andy (Dad) can often be found helping out at markets, or in the warehouse.

If you see Claire, be sure to ask if she is Mr Toadstall's wife (of course she is not!)...it might well our most frequently asked question!

Plant Passports

What is a plant passport?

A plant passport is an official label for the movement of regulated plants and plant products within the EU, and where applicable, into and within EU Protected Zones. It assures compliance with all plant health requirements for the relevant plant or plant product, for example that it is free from particular pests and diseases. The content and format of these is publicly available on EUR-LEX. EUR-LEX is the site where EU law is published.

What is the purpose of a plant passport?

Plant passports ensure that plants and plant products can be traced throughout the supply chain, which is essential for maintaining biosecurity. The regulations are applied across the EU, which means stakeholders in all EU states must uphold the same minimum standards for plant health.
